Dans les temps
Dans les temps (Right in time) - 2007/08 - is an installation exploring time as an elusive physical entity. It was made in collaboration with Candie Alet and Elodie Garrone during a hybrid art workshop held by Rémi Dall’aglio and Jean Marc Andrieu, both French artists. The workshop’s topic was “art and science”. My role was to program the Pure Data patch for the piece.

Time has a relative/flexible dimension, two individuals perceive the same period of time differently. On the other hand, time also has a strict and regular rhythm (news time, natural cycles, etc).

In order to present this paradox (relative vs strict), we worked on the metronome, symbol of perfect rhythm. We created an “observation bay” to observe two different rhythms of the piece : the visual and the audible. The bay becomes a capsule filtering time, erasing the function of a metronome (producing rhythm).

This piece has been exhibited two times in Aix-en-Provence : in the Shcool of Art (2007), and in the city hall for the festival “C’est Sud” (2008).

This work was selected to participate into the 2009 edition of the Biennale of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean, in Skopje in the Republic of Macedonia. Exhibitions :
19 April - 30 May 2009 in Montpellier (France)
3 to 10 September 2009 in Skopje (Macedonia)
and 2010 in Marseilles (France).
